This ultra-modern module manufacturing facility in the Bagthali industrial zone is part of a larger investment plan by GREW Energy Private Limited, amounting to Rs 4500 crore in J&K. The establishment of this 3.2 GW solar manufacturing plant in J&K is not just an expansion of GREW's production capabilities, it aims to propel economic growth and employment in the zone. The Kathua facility is projected to generate around 3000 high-tech positions, offering vital employment prospects for the local youth in the region. This initiative aligns perfectly with the broader strategy of the central government, which has invested heavily in Jammu and Kashmir's infrastructure, bringing about unprecedented progress and prosperity. 

Strengthening India's Solar Capacity 

Completion of the 3.2 GW solar module plant in Kathua will set the stage for achieving a total manufacturing capacity of 6 GW for modules and 2.8 GW for solar components by FY25. This expansion enhances GREW's existing 2.8 GW module manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, solidifying its position as a key player in India's solar industry. It integrates production capabilities, reinforcing GREW's role as a leading solar module manufacturer and advancing the nation's renewable energy objectives.
